When it comes to giving gifts, I really am a huge thinker. I don’t just give something to people just for the sake of giving. I want my gifts to mean something. I want them to be useful. And most especially, I want them to be personal.
For me, however, it’s so much easier to think about what gifts to give the women in my life. After all, if I hadn’t had the chance to personally observe what they want to get or what they usually need, I could still get them something that I find useful as a girl. (Check this post out if you want gift ideas for your best friends!)
But for men, oh what a struggle it is! I would usually just shake my guy friends off in the hopes that they will honestly tell me what they want as presents. If I’m lucky, my Dad would give me specific ideas – like a jersey, shirt or cap from a country I just visited. If luck isn’t on my side, whenever I ask them what they want, it’s either they answer a) jokingly – “I want a house and lot, can you get me that?”, or b) like they don’t care – “You choose, anything’s fine with me.” Legit, I am telling you, the struggle is real.
I would research and research and research but I will always end up feeling like the options I found aren’t personal at all. So if you’re like me, I am writing this post, with contents from T.M. Lewin, a British heritage businesswear brand, to at least lessen your gift shopping stress for the special men in your life.
P.S. There’s also a shopping guide attached to this list which you might find useful! Happy reading!
5 Christmas Gifts for the Special Men in Your Life
Non-iron casual or formal shirts
It’s already something to get your Dad, your husband, your boyfriend, or your friend a shirt because it means that, probably, you are close enough to know his sizes and to consider what style he has and what designs he may like. But if you want to level it up and make your gift more special, I suggest for you to consider buying a non-iron one. Besides, the guy you’ll give it to will clearly appreciate this free-from-ironing-hassle clothing!
A Classic Neck Tie
This is totally something I could give my Dad! If your man is in the professional working sector, then it’s best to give him something that he could probably use when going to work. It’s a special and personal present that you’ll have to really think about because the designs may mean something to him, to you, or even the both of you.
This one’s perfect for those of you who live in cold and/or winter climates. Really, what guy wouldn’t love some classic leather gloves in his closet, right? Especially when it’s freezing cold outside, this one’s really going to be useful and perfect if use and class are two of the factors you consider when buying gifts.
Speaking of a man’s closet, it just isn’t complete without a leather belt. It’s almost like how we as women consider what bags to take with us or what accessories to wear in dressing up our outfit. So on your next hunt for presents to the special men in your life, take my word and get them some leather belt (authentic ones are definitely a plus)! It wouldn’t go unappreciated.
We think that just because socks aren’t that seen in a guy’s outfit, it means they’re already not that important. But really, they are! If we, as girls, have this obsession with necklaces, shoes, or bags, some men actually have the same love for their socks. Besides, this is also such an adorable thing to give as a present because you can designs that you think will personally be liked by the guys you’re giving it to.
Those are my suggestions for you, loves! I hope that they have all been useful and that they actually gave you ideas on what to give the men in your lives. Just know that whatever it is – be it bought or made, expensive or not, used or not – as long they come with love from your hearts, then they are already the best gifts for Christmas. Thank you for reading!
